When you purchase crypto using one of our ATMs you will need to provide a wallet that is yours and under your full control. If you do not have a wallet set up at the time of your purchase, you can create a Paper Wallet. A Paper Wallet looks like a receipt paper with two QR codes in it, a Public Key & a Private Key. This will temporarily store the crypto you are purchasing until you can import the funds into a digital wallet, such as the RockItCoin mobile app. This guide will walk you through the steps in setting up and funding a Paper Wallet.
Disclaimer: At this time our ATMs do not support Ethereum paper wallets,
but you can purchase Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.
Step 1:
Press "Buy Coins" to initiate your transaction.
Step 2:
Select the amount you would like to purchase. For this example, we will select the first tier.
Step 3:
Enter your phone number. Be sure to read the warning displayed.
Step 4:
Enter your Secret Pin.
(If you're a new user, you will have to create a PIN)
Step 5:
Select the cryptocurrency you would like to purchase. For this example, we are buying Bitcoin.
Step 6:
Select "Create New Wallet"
Step 7:
Retrieve the Paper Wallet from the printer located on the right-hand side of the ATM.
Do NOT proceed unless both QR codes are clearly visible!
Step 8:
IF the paper wallet looks clear and is NOT blurry or missing information, press the blue box to continue.
ONLY PROCEED if wallet printed!
Paper wallets are one of a kind and cannot be replicated, making sure your paper wallet is in mint condition is crucial before funding it.
Once funded, if the Paper Wallet is damaged or gets lost, we cannot create a duplicate to replace it.
Step 9:
Fund your Paper Wallet by inserting cash into the machine. The cash acceptor is located at the bottom left of the kiosk and the words BILLS will be lit up in green.
Once you have finished inserting the bills, verify that the amount you inserted matches the amount displayed on the screen. If it does, you may select ‘Finish’. (For this example, we inserted $20.00)
Step 10:
Finally, you may select the kind of receipt you would like to receive. You have now completed your transaction!
Congratulations! You have successfully funded your paper wallet. You are now ready to import the funds, learn how to do so here.
What to Do After You Make a Paper Bitcoin Wallet
Now that you have funded your Paper Wallet make sure to keep it in a safe place. Paper Wallets are one-of-a-kind and can be easily damaged. The paper the wallet is printed on can rip, wrinkle, and can be damaged by both water and heat. Any of these instances can make it unreadable and your funds inaccessible. Because of its fragility and the possibility of losing the wallet, we highly recommend you import the funds into a software wallet, such as our RockItCoin mobile app, after completing your transaction. Remember if you share your Paper Wallet with anyone, they will have full access to the coins being stored in it.
